vino on a budget

I never thought i’d see the day that I buy my wine at Costco. Weird, right?! But here I am, and I’m not even a little upset about it because it’s amazing. I love red wine or a lot of red wine, and when you enjoy a glass on a regular basis (or daily…whatever…don’t judge…didn’t a smart person once say a glass a day was good for you?!), you need to find deals where you can (hence Costco).

Costco vinos

Here are some of the best finds I’ve found recently at Costco, and compared the price on the app Vivino:

Dreaming Tree Crush 2014 – To my pleasant surprise, this little number was co-made by Dave Matthews which i didn’t even realize until after i had been buying for a few months. I’m a pretty big fan of this Crush Red Blend that’s a mix of Zinfandel, Merlot, Sirah. I find it light and easy to drink. Costco $10.99 | Vivino $17.74

Château Rigaud 2012 – This Shiraz blend from France is pretty tasty. From what i read it’s 55% Syrah, 26% Mourvedre and 19% Grenache aged 12 months, and a pretty good deal! Costco $13.99 | Vivino $18.40

San Pedro 1865 Unique Edition Cabernet Sauvignon 2013 -I  recently discovered that I’m really enjoying wines from Chile and this is no exception. For all you Cab Sauv lovers, this is a must try especially since you can find it for a great price at Costco. Costco $14.99 | Vivino $30.13

Ghost Pines Winemaker’s Blend Cabernet Sauvignon 2013 – Another Cab Sauv but from a different continent. Ghost Pines is made with grapes from Sonoma and Napa and according to their site (not my pallet because I’m not that sophisticated) offers dark fruit flavors, round tannins and an enduring finish. Costco $14.69 | Vivino 22.64

Hahn Winery GSM – This one has a similar blend to the Chateau as it’s made up of Grenache, Syrah and Mourvèdre (but no idea on the percentages). Costco $13.99 | Vivino $19.31

And there you have it, some fab deals for red wine lovers. Have any tips? Would love to hear them!

xo, maria
