Throughout the summer, we’ve been drinking ALL the beer and eating ALL the food. Like all of it.
While we’re all about #TreatYoSelf, this comes with some sacrifices (like the top button of your jeans).
One of the things we’ve recently grown to love that gives us a bit of a jumpstart to getting back on the healthy bus is cold brew tea. We had heard of popular “skinny” teas but weren’t down with the price tag so after some searching, discovered other teas out there that gave us good results.
Our favourite teas are the Traditional Medicinals Organic EveryDay Detox and the Organic Weightless. The evening before, we brew a large one litre bottle with both bags of tea. We let it cool overnight and in the morning squeeze in lemon (and add in lemon wedges for days we’re craving extra zest!).
We try to get through the full litre throughout the morning, followed by another litre of water with lemon in the afternoon.
It’s been just what we’ve needed to help get rid of water retention from salty snacks and helps keep us full.
There are lots of detox drinks out there so we’ll be adding in different ingredients as we go but for now the plain tea has helped a lot (and it’s delicious).
